Le 24 juin, les Montréalaises et les Montréalais de tout âge et de toute origine sont invités à se retrouver et à célébrer notre identité québécoise, notre langue française, notre culture plurielle et notre histoire unique. Métropole francophone des Amériques, Montréal sera, encore cette année, au cœur des célébrations. Dans nos quartiers, dans nos parcs, des personnes de tous les horizons auront l’occasion de souligner les valeurs de solidarité, d’amitié et d’ouverture qui nous unissent et qui nous définissent. La Fête nationale a un pouvoir rassembleur inimitable. Elle met en lumière l’œuvre de femmes et d’hommes qui, avec cœur, ont bâti une nation que nous devons continuer à faire rayonner. Elle célèbre un sentiment d’appartenance ancré au plus profond de nous-mêmes.
Le 24 juin, rassemblons-nous pour célébrer fièrement notre Québec !

Depuis tout ce temps, la Fête nationale représente une occasion formidable pour démontrer notre amour envers notre patrie, le Québec, et notre fierté d’appartenir à cette magnifique société de langue française, en Amérique du Nord, inclusive et ouverte sur le monde. Nous avons raison d’être fiers. « Retrouvons-nous à la belle étoile » est la thématique de ces journées de célébrations. Les étoiles sont aussi nos artistes. Ceux-ci qui sont les artisans de notre culture si unique, et notre savoir-faire dans un grand nombre de domaines, font rayonner notre nation partout sur la planète. Nous formons une société dynamique, moderne, rythmée, diversifiée et hautement créative. Le 24 juin 1834, Ludger Duvernay, le fondateur de la Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal, a vu juste en organisant le tout premier banquet avec l’objectif de donner au peuple québécois une véritable fête nationale. Il a été un grand visionnaire. Encore aujourd’hui, la Fête nationale est plus importante que jamais dans notre cœur. Chaque édition est une invitation à se déclarer collectivement l’amour que nous
portons envers le Québec. Au nom du Comité de la Fête nationale à Montréal, je vous souhaite une magnifique Fête !

En 2023, le besoin de s’aimer, de chanter, de danser a été comblé pour le bonheur de tous. En 2024, la nostalgie du passé plane sur le Québec et laisse place au besoin de réconfort, de douceur, d’harmonie, de courage et d’émotions. Pour la 190e édition, vivons ensemble une grande évasion. À travers un voyage en chansons, revisitons notre passé pour garder en mémoire et chérir nos racines, notre langue, notre territoire, l’expression de notre identité,
de notre NOUS profond. Ainsi, le peuple québécois aura le courage d’aller vers l’avenir avec conviction et éloquence. Ce grand rassemblement nous permettra de nous aimer encore, de chanter encore, de danser encore et de vibrer au rythme de la force et de la résistance historique de notre peuple. Par cette expression partagée, le soleil reviendra éclairer nos vies, gage d’un été et d’une continuité lumineuse et unificatrice !
Hâte de vous voir sur le trajet du traditionnel Défilé et au parc Maisonneuve où se tiendra le Grand spectacle.
